Sleep efficiency
Self-reported estimate; not a sleep-disorder diagnosis or a replacement for a sleep study.

Formula
Use E = (B−L−W)/B. B is time in bed, L is sleep-onset latency, and W is later awake time, all in minutes. Sleep efficiency E is a fraction, displayed as a percentage.
Compare estimated time asleep with time spent in bed.
Worked example
- Time in bed (minutes)
- 480
- Sleep onset latency (minutes)
- 20
- Awake after sleep onset (minutes)
- 40
- Sleep efficiency
- 87.5 %
- Estimated time asleep
- 420 minutes
Scope and limitations
Self-reported estimate; not a sleep-disorder diagnosis or a replacement for a sleep study.
Inputs are checked for missing values and allowed ranges. A result outside the finite numeric range is not displayed. Rounding affects display, while the calculation uses the model’s numeric precision.
Check your units and assumptions before relying on a result. Changing a label does not convert a currency or physical unit.
