Food Energy Density
Scale a serving’s energy to 100 grams or another serving weight.
Your numbers
Energy per 100 g
For personal measurement and planning, not diagnosis, treatment or a training prescription. Measurement error and individual differences affect results.

Formula
Use d = E/W and Q = ds. E is measured-portion energy in kcal, W is its mass in g, and s is target serving mass in g. d is energy per gram and Q is target serving energy in kcal.
Scale a serving’s energy to 100 grams or another serving weight.
Worked example
- Energy in measured portion (kcal)
- 250
- Measured portion mass (g)
- 100
- Target serving mass (g)
- 60
- Energy per 100 g
- 250 kcal
- Target serving energy
- 150 kcal
Scope and limitations
For personal measurement and planning, not diagnosis, treatment or a training prescription. Measurement error and individual differences affect results.
Inputs are checked for missing values and allowed ranges. A result outside the finite numeric range is not displayed. Rounding affects display, while the calculation uses the model’s numeric precision.
Check your units and assumptions before relying on a result. Changing a label does not convert a currency or physical unit.
