Formula

Calendar difference = end date − start date, with only the local calendar dates. To break am into years–months–days, we first count complete calendar years, then complete months, then the days wey remain, just like age calculation.

Example wey show the calculation

From 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026: 364 days, exactly 52 weeks, and calendar breakdown of 11 months and 30 days. Inclusive count, counting both 1 January and 31 December, na 365 days. Use Reset example above to reproduce this result.

Where e fit work and limits

Only whole local calendar dates compared; times of day and time zones ignored. Leap years handled by calendar itself — 2026 not leap year, while interval spanning 29 February 2028 for include that day. Month lengths differ, so years–months–days breakdown na calendar statement, not days divided by 30. No public holidays involved in this count; for weekdays only, use workday calculator.

E use proleptic Gregorian calendar and date-only arithmetic, independent of daylight saving time. Complete years and months use di original day of month, but move am to di last valid day if necessary. Other anniversary conventions fit different; dis no be legal age determination.
