Breakdown

QuantityValue

Weeks and days—
Target date—
From date—

A negative count means the target is in the past; the page then reports how many days ago it was.

Formula

Days remaining = target local calendar date − from local calendar date. Weeks = whole weeks in that count, with the remaining days shown separately.

Worked example

From 28 October 2026 to the target 1 January 2027: 65 days, which is 9 weeks and 2 days. 1 January 2027 is a Friday. Set the from date to 2026-10-28 to reproduce this result; leaving it blank counts from today instead.

Scope and limitations

This is a calendar-day count, not a live hours-and-minutes countdown, and it depends on the device's local date when the from date is left blank. Leap years are handled by the calendar: the count between two dates automatically includes 29 February in leap years. Times of day and time zones are ignored; both dates are treated as whole local calendar days.

FAQ

Is this a live countdown?

No. It counts whole calendar days between two dates. It does not tick down in hours, minutes or seconds.

What if the target date has passed?

The count is negative and the page reports it as days ago — for example, −10 days is shown as '10 days ago'.

What does 'from today' use?

Your device's local date. If you need a reproducible result, enter the from date explicitly instead of leaving it blank.

Does it handle leap years?

Yes. Because it subtracts real calendar dates, a 29 February inside the interval is counted like any other day.

Why weeks and days, not months?

Months have different lengths, so a day count converts to weeks exactly but to months only approximately. Weeks and days are exact; months are not shown.
