Age = reference date − date of birth, evaluated as a calendar difference: completed years first, then completed months, then remaining days. Days lived is the plain day count between the two dates. Days until the next birthday is the day count from the reference date to the next occurrence of the birth month and day.
Born 10 May 1990, at the reference date 28 October 2026: 36 completed years (to 10 May 2026), plus 5 completed months (to 10 October 2026), plus 18 days = 36 years, 5 months, 18 days. Days lived = 13,320 days. The next birthday is 10 May 2027, which is 194 days after 28 October 2026. Set the reference date to 2026-10-28 to reproduce this result.
All dates are local calendar dates; times of day and time zones are ignored, so a birthday later today still counts as reached on its date. Leap years are handled by the calendar itself: a person born on 29 February ages by completed calendar years, and in a non-leap year this page treats 28 February as the birthday for the next-birthday count (stated here so the convention is explicit, not assumed). If the date of birth is after the reference date, no age is shown.
Yes, as a calendar age: completed years, then completed months, then days. It is not total days divided by 365, which would drift across leap years.
By the real calendar. The day count between two dates automatically includes 29 February in leap years, and the year/month breakdown follows calendar months of different lengths.
Age still advances by completed calendar years. For the next-birthday countdown in a non-leap year, this page uses 28 February and says so in the scope section.
No. Only calendar dates are compared, so time zones and birth times do not change the result.
No result is shown; the page asks for a birth date on or before the reference date.
