Formula
Age = date wey you choose − date wey person born. We count completed calendar years first, then completed months, then days wey remain. Days lived na the direct number of days between the dates. Days before next birthday na the days from your chosen date to the next time that birth month and day go reach.
Example wey show the calculation
For person wey dem born 10 May 1990, if the date to compare na 28 October 2026: 36 completed years reach 10 May 2026, plus 5 completed months reach 10 October 2026, plus 18 days = 36 years, 5 months, 18 days. Days lived = 13,320 days. The next birthday na 10 May 2027, wey dey 194 days after 28 October 2026. Choose 2026-10-28 as the date to reproduce dis example.
Where e fit work and limits
All dates na local calendar dates. We no count time of day or time zone, so birthday wey never reach for the clock today still count once its calendar date reach. The calendar handle leap years. Person wey dem born 29 February dey gain completed calendar years; for the next-birthday count in year wey no be leap year, dis page use 28 February. We state dis rule openly. If birth date dey after the date to compare, we no show age.
E use proleptic Gregorian calendar and date-only arithmetic, independent of daylight saving time. Complete years and months use di original day of month, but move am to di last valid day if necessary. Other anniversary conventions fit different; dis no be legal age determination.

The age for years, months and days correct exactly?
Yes, as calendar age: completed years first, then completed months, then days. We no divide total days by 365, because leap years go make that method shift.
How una handle leap years?
We use the real calendar. Day count between dates include 29 February whenever leap year enter the period. The year-and-month breakdown follow calendar months, even though their lengths no be the same.
Wetin happen if birthday na 29 February?
Age still dey increase by completed calendar years. For next-birthday countdown in year wey no be leap year, dis page use 28 February, as we explain for the scope section.
Time of day matter?
No. Na only calendar dates we compare. Time zones and the time wey person born no change dis result.
