Horizontal Cylinder Tank Fill
Find liquid volume from fill depth in a horizontal round tank.
Your numbers
Liquid volume
Straight circular cylinder with flat ends. Dished end caps, tilt and wall thickness are excluded.
Scenario comparison

Formula
Use A = r²acos((r−h)/r)−(r−h)√(2rh−h²) and V = AL. r is inner radius, h is liquid depth from the bottom, and L is cylinder length, all in m. acos uses radians; V is in m³.

Scope and limitations
Straight circular cylinder with flat ends. Dished end caps, tilt and wall thickness are excluded.
Inputs are checked for missing values and allowed ranges. A result outside the finite numeric range is not displayed. Rounding affects display, while the calculation uses the model’s numeric precision.
Check your units and assumptions before relying on a result. Changing a label does not convert a currency or physical unit.
