Heart Rate Reserve Target
Apply an entered intensity to measured heart-rate reserve.
Your numbers
Target at entered intensity
Enter an intensity approved for your circumstances. Medicines and health conditions can change heart-rate responses; this does not set a safe exercise zone.
Health inputs stay in this tab. Link sharing is disabled.
Scenario comparison
Up to three snapshots in this tab. Loading one replaces the current inputs.
Formula
Use T = R+(M−R)i. R is resting heart rate, M is measured maximum heart rate, and i is your chosen reserve intensity as a fraction. T uses the same heart-rate unit.
Apply an entered intensity to measured heart-rate reserve.
Worked example
- Measured maximum heart rate (bpm)
- 190
- Resting heart rate (bpm)
- 60
- Chosen reserve intensity (%)
- 60
- Target at entered intensity
- 138 bpm
- Heart-rate reserve
- 130 bpm
Scope and limitations
Enter an intensity approved for your circumstances. Medicines and health conditions can change heart-rate responses; this does not set a safe exercise zone.
Inputs are checked for missing values and allowed ranges. A result outside the finite numeric range is not displayed. Rounding affects display, while the calculation uses the model’s numeric precision.
Check your units and assumptions before relying on a result. Changing a label does not convert a currency or physical unit.
