Bars are scaled to the larger component. Search time is an opportunity cost valued at your hourly figure, not cash you pay out.

Same storage fee and hourly value; only the weekly search minutes change.
Annual value = monthly storage fee × 12 + weekly search minutes ÷ 60 × 52 × hourly value. Monthly average = annual value ÷ 12. Cleanup payback = cleanup hours × hourly value ÷ monthly average.
Monthly storage 68, 45 search minutes per week, hourly value 80, cleanup 6 hours: storage = 68 × 12 = 816.00; search time = 45 ÷ 60 × 52 = 39 hours per year, valued at 39 × 80 = 3,120.00; annual cost = 816.00 + 3,120.00 = 3,936.00. Cleanup value = 6 × 80 = 480.00; monthly average = 3,936.00 ÷ 12 = 328.00; payback = 480.00 ÷ 328.00 = 1.46 months. These are example inputs — your hourly value is a judgement, not a market rate.
Search time is an opportunity cost, and the model does not prove cleanup will eliminate it: a cleanup may reduce search time without removing it, and the payback figure assumes the full monthly average is recovered. Storage fees are cash costs; search-time value is not cash unless the freed time is actually used productively. Your hourly value should reflect what your time is worth to you, not a wage claim.
Annual value = monthly storage fee × 12 + weekly search minutes ÷ 60 × 52 × hourly value. Cleanup payback divides cleanup time value by the monthly average.
No. It is an opportunity cost: the value of time spent searching, at the hourly figure you enter. It only becomes cash if you use the freed time to earn or save.
Whatever your time is worth to you for this decision — it is a judgement input, not a wage or market rate. Try a low and a high value to see how much the answer moves.
Only if cleanup removes the search time it is credited with. The model does not prove cleanup will eliminate search time; treat payback as an if-it-works figure.
Track a typical week honestly: hunting for files, photos, emails and passwords. A rough diary for one week beats a guessed round number.
