Pace bars na labels, no be direct comparisons. Mile longer than kilometre, so time per mile go always larger at the same speed.

Formula

Total time = hours × 3,600 + minutes × 60 + seconds. Pace per kilometre = total time ÷ distance (km). Pace per mile = pace per kilometre × 1.609344. Speed = distance ÷ total hours. Na full elapsed time we dey use.

Example wey show the calculation

Distance na 10 km and finish time na 50 minutes (3,000 seconds): pace = 3,000 ÷ 10 = 300 seconds = 5:00 /km. For each mile, na 300 × 1.609344 = 483 seconds = 8:03 /mile. Speed = 10 ÷ (3,000 ÷ 3,600) = 12.0 km/h (7.46 mph). At the same pace, 5 km take 25:00 and marathon take 3:30:59. Use Reset example above to get this result again.

Where e fit work and limits

Na average for the full distance. E assume even pace and no separately model pauses, terrain, weather, elevation or GPS error, all of which fit change actual splits. Projected times for other distances assume say you fit hold the same pace. That assumption dey less realistic as distance grow.

Questions wey people dey ask often

Why pace per mile slower than pace per kilometre?

Na because mile (1.609344 km) longer than kilometre, so e go take proportionally longer at the same speed.

This one account for hills or stops?

No. E dey divide all elapsed time by distance, so pauses and terrain dey enter the same average pace.

How accurate projected marathon time dey?

Na maths projection only. Holding a 10 km pace for 42.195 km much harder than holding am for 10 km, so treat these projections as reference figures.

Wetin if the seconds for my time pass 59?

Enter dem as minutes instead. The seconds field no go pass 59, to match how we normally dey write time.

Una dey store my data?

No. This calculation dey run locally inside your browser; values wey you enter no dey reach any CalcMintly database.

I fit enter distance in miles?

Convert first: divide miles by 0.621371 to get kilometres, or multiply kilometres by 0.621371 to go the other way.
