Brick Quantity
Estimate one-layer wall bricks allowing for mortar joints and openings.
Your numbers
Estimated bricks
Single face layer only; bonding pattern, corners and structural wall thickness require a separate takeoff.

Formula
Use N = ceil[(A−O)(1+w)/((l+j)(h+j))]. A and O are wall and opening areas in m²; brick face dimensions l, h and joint width j are converted to m. w is the waste fraction and ceil rounds up.

Scope and limitations
Single face layer only; bonding pattern, corners and structural wall thickness require a separate takeoff.
Inputs are checked for missing values and allowed ranges. A result outside the finite numeric range is not displayed. Rounding affects display, while the calculation uses the model’s numeric precision.
Check your units and assumptions before relying on a result. Changing a label does not convert a currency or physical unit.
