Diffraction Grating Angle
Find the angle of a diffraction order at normal incidence.

Diffraction angle
Idealized SI-unit educational model. Real components, tolerances, losses and safe operating limits require separate verification.
Scenario comparison
Up to three snapshots in this tab. Loading one replaces the current inputs.
Formula
Use d sinθ = mλ. d is slit spacing, λ is wavelength converted to the same length unit, and m is diffraction order. The angle is displayed in degrees; an order beyond the real-angle range is rejected.

Scope and limitations
Idealized SI-unit educational model. Real components, tolerances, losses and safe operating limits require separate verification.
Inputs are checked for missing values and allowed ranges. A result outside the finite numeric range is not displayed. Rounding affects display, while the calculation uses the model’s numeric precision.
Check your units and assumptions before relying on a result. Changing a label does not convert a currency or physical unit.
